Day 43 (Sept 5, 2024) Quirpon Island NL to St Anthony NL
Short drive today as tomorrow is a ferry day. After a zodiac tour around the island we were dropped at the wharf around 10am and made our way to L'Anse aux Meadows.

| Fortunately the wind was blowing the right direction so we didn't get wet. |
L'anse aux Meadows is a national historic site in Canada with the first known evidence of vikings in the Americas. We spent some time in the visitor center and then walked out to a re-created viking village, complete with vikings and then around the heritage site.

Perhaps the most excitement at L'anse aux Meadows were the moose outside the entrance. One was a huge bull with massive antlers. Sadly they were too far away to photograph but our new binoculars worked great.
Our hotel tonight is Grenfell Heritage Hotel and Suites in St. Anthony. Upon checkin we asked the receptionist what she recommended in St. Anthony and her response was that it was a sleepy town, although not sleepy enough to prevent cruise ships.
We had pizza and beer for dinner - comfort food at is best!
