We spent 8 nights in Estes Park at  Riverwood on Fall River  hosted through AirBNB. Our home was a two bedroom log-cabin-like condo backing up to the Fall River- so our days and nights were filled with the sounds of rushing water.  It was located about a mile from downtown and fairly close to the Fall River entrance of Rocky Mountain National Park. We discovered about 2 weeks before arriving, that, in addition to a park pass, a timed entry pass was required to enter RMNP between 9am and 2pm for all areas except Bear Lake and between 5am-7pm for Bear Lake. While we initially thought this may be a barrier, it turned out not to be (larger crowds at Bear Lake and we are always up early). We did 3 hikes - all very different from each other - and ironically, for all of them we started with a destination in mind but ended up extending our hike further than planned. It took us about 6 hours to drive from Steamboat Springs to Aspen where we stayed at Hotel Jerome . Our room was spacious - which was perfect given we unloaded most of our bags from the car.  The valet, Carlos, was particularly helpful- especially when my passport was missing. He took me down to the garage helped search the car. When it didn't turn up he suggested we bring the car around where there was more light and we found it wedged between the middle console and the seat.  We walked around Aspen for a bit and then went to Betula - one of our favorite restaurants in Aspen for dinner.  We were quite surprised when our server walked in and said- and "did you find your passport - it is me, Carlos, from the hotel." We spent a week riding horses and fly fishing just north of Steamboat Springs at Vista Verde . We slept in the Gilpin room in the main lodge - which was perfect for us as it was close to the dining areas, activities, and it had great WiFi as well a private hot tub off the back porch (a dip in the hot tub became a nightly ritual). Every evening at happy hour we selected our activities for the next day, typically a morning and an afternoon activity, but there were also a couple of extra trail rides thrown in (one to breakfast Wednesday and one to dinner Thursday). It definitely felt like summer camp. Our activities included: Monday: trail rides (following orientation) both morning and afternoon Tuesday: trail ride in the morning for both of us, afternoon: horseback rhythm and balance class (Micki), and fishing at Hahn's Peak Lake (Filip) Wednesday: breakfast ride and fishing at Hahns Peak Lake in the morning for both of us, Micki rode in the afternoon Thursday: fishing with a picnic ...

We spent 8 nights (5/31-6/8) at an AirBnb condominium in Telluride. Our condo was small but right along the river trail with views of the mountains and river off the back balcony. Our week included many hikes, many waterfalls, a few gondola rides, one bike ride, one balloon festival and a few good restaurants.  Our weather was meh - two really nice days and a lot of rain, so we were pleased to have a kitchen. But, when the weather was nice (or at least not pouring), we took advantage.
