Day 42 (Sept 4, 2024) Quirpon Island
As we are early risers and we had a couple of hours to kill before breakfast we hiked up to the top of the hill to see if we could get some cell reception. It was a little cold but sunny.

We had breakfast with Jo and Simon and chatted about our plans for the day with them and Ed- who gave some direction/advice. They were going to do the hike we did yesterday and we were going to head over to Pigeon Cove (the opposite direction) and then create our own path to a peninsula beside Pigeon Cove. The staff fixed us packed lunches so we could play as long as we wanted and we were informed dinner was at six.
We had so much fun on this hike. Unlike the US, where there always signs about staying on the path, we were free to go where-ever we wanted - and in some cases, potentially the wrong direction requiring us to backtrack or we would be wading through water or jumping a crevasse that was bigger than we were willing to risk. The surface was covered in moss, lichen and small pines- and every step felt like a sponge. We found a great spot for flying the kite- with potentially the best kite-flying pictures we have ever taken, on our way to the spot we had picked (but were not sure we could get there) for lunch.
