The weather was amazing today, beautifully sunny and around 75 degrees. We had an easy drive from Brier Island (109 miles with two ferries), mostly on back roads through the woods with no other cars, arriving at Trout Point Lodge in the Acadian Forest for lunch. After lunch we kayaked up the Tusket River fully immersed in nature, and importantly, all to ourselves.

Dinner was a 4 course meal, which was both delicious and appropriately-sized followed by a soak in the wood-fired hot top. Before bed we joined a star-gazing experience with an engaging guide who not only knew the names of the stars and constellations but also the stories behind them. From our room we could hear the flow of Tusket River - the perfect white noise for sleeping.
