Day 15 (Aug 8, 2024) Alberton PEI to Dalvay PEI

It was 90 miles from Alberton to Dalvay with a couple of stops along the way.  Cavendish beach was first. We could see the white sand beach to the west from the parking lot and it was jammed with people and beach umbrellas. We opted for a short walk to the east and were rewarded by a small trail down to the beach.  The beach was beautifully lined with red boulders and no people.

In a hunt for a lunch similar to yesterday, we landed at On the Dock in North Rustico.  It was a little more crowded and there were no lobster boats to be seen, but our view was lovely and their salads were delicious. 

We checked into Dalvay by the Sea around 3pm. The hotel and restaurant were in an old mansion built in 1885 with an expansive lawn in front of a lake.  We had a lazy afternoon in adirondack chairs on the lawn and then went out to the beach for some kite flying.

Our room was on the third floor and a view of the lake and beyond that, the ocean. The bed was on a platform so you could see the ocean clearly. We were surprised in the morning by a beautiful sunrise as we didn't realize we were facing east.
